Bay Vista Cottage is a charming well-appointed 2 bedroom/1.5 bath cottage steeped in local history and conveniently located in the Rolling Bay area of Bainbridge Island, Washington. Minutes to the beach by foot and only two blocks to Rolling Bay town center you are located in a desirable area with many amenities and activities to enjoy.

Bay Vista Cottage is a 2-story home nestled on a bluff overlooking the Puget Sound, Mt. Baker, Whidbey Island, and the Cascade mountains. Big picture windows offer a stunning view from almost every room in the house. Legend has it that Bay Vista Cottage was the original Rolling Bay Post Office dating back to 1910. Many major renovations later, Bay Vista Cottage still retains its charming and rustic roots, while also offering the comfort and luxury of a modern beach cottage. Reclaimed wide plank fir flooring in the first floor living area creates a warm ambience, while the newly remodeled kitchen offers all the amenities your gourmet chef desires!

Amenities

The spacious multi-level deck has a hot tub, fire pit, BBQ, and seating for more than 6. Enjoy a hearty BBQ dinner on a cool summer night, or roast marshmallows in the fire pit (propane and wood provided). Surrounding the deck is a lovely garden that was featured in the annual "Bainbridge in Bloom" event. Meander down the flagstone path and a wonderful covered swinging bench invites you to sit and relax and watch the marine traffic sail by or listen to the seagulls soaring overhead.

The well-appointed kitchen was remodeled in 2010 and has stainless steel Bosch appliances, spacious granite countertops and is well-equipped for all your cooking needs including gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator with ice-maker, microwave, and Kuerig coffee maker. In addition, there are two large view windows looking onto the amazing water views!!

The living room features ample seating for 6 including a couch, two full recliners and two ottomans. The living room is a great place for the family to gather to play games, engage in conversation, watch TV, or enjoy the view. An adjoining sitting area in front of the gas fireplace offers an additional two barrel chairs with ottomans for fireside chats or snuggling up with a good book.

The dining room comfortably seats 6, and can expand to accommodate 8 people. There are large bay windows that beg you to look out over the deck, garden, and on to the beautiful blue waters beyond. Another set of picture windows frame the peaceful grove of bamboo trees in the side yard providing a soothing green backdrop for a wonderful meal and conversation.

There is a separate laundry room upstairs featuring a washer, dryer, iron, and ironing board.

Activities

Bay Vista Cottage is located in the desirable Rolling Bay area of Bainbridge Island. Bay Vista Cottage is located two short blocks from the Rolling Bay town center and a leisurely walk to multiple beaches. Wake up in the morning and take a leisurely stroll to Rolling Bay town center where you can enjoy a morning latte at the Rolling Bay Cafe. Afterwards pop into the quaint Rolling Bay post office to mail postcards or pick up supplies at the mini-grocery store.

Bainbridge Island abounds in activities including walking, hiking, biking, shopping, wine-tasting, kayaking, golfing, and sailing. Bay Vista Cottage is located on a popular walking loop that takes you down to Manitou Beach with amazing views of downtown Seattle. Steeped in logging history from the 1870's, a stroll on the many Rolling Bay walking loops offers an insight to its beginnings - the Moran School (now the Messenger House), Bay Hay and Feed, and the Rolling Bay Post Office.
